This is tubing made of LA141 in 2005 or so, we were happy with the properties but we set the material out (indoors) for atmospheric corrosion data, the results were shocking. Clearly, this material needs an aggressive anticorrosion finish such as MAO.
This is the result of 10 weeks indoor exposure without surface protection, it has not just formed a protective oxide layer, it persistently corroded like steel or iron, and unlike most magnesium alloys.
